Français : La coquille figurant sur les armoiries de Vandœuvres est l’attribut de Saint Jacques, patron de l’ancienne paroisse de Vandœuvres. Ces armes de compositions furent approuvées par le Conseil d’Etat le 12 juin 1924, sur proposition du Conseil municipal.
On trouve le signe de reconnaissance du passage du pèlerinage de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle à Vandœuvres sous la forme de cette coquille retrouvée auprès d’un squelette lors des fouilles archéologiques effectuées sous le temple de Vandœuvres. |
