Español: La balsa muisca de las ofrendas es una pieza de orfebrería precolombina elaborada por la cultura muisca que se exhibe en la "Sala La Ofrenda" del Museo del Oro del Banco de la República de Colombia en Bogotá. La pieza fue encontrada en 1969 en Pasca, Cundinamarca. Esta balsa de oro es considerada el símbolo de la leyenda de "El Dorado" y la pieza más legendaria del Museo del Oro de Bogotá. Representa el acto de investidura de poder de los jefes muiscas, cuyos cuerpos desnudos eran bañados con oro en polvo y desde la balsa arrojaban oro, esmeraldas y otras ofrendas en el medio las aguas de la laguna Guatavita. La pieza fue elaborada entre 600 y 1600 d. C. y se usó la técnica de vaciado de oro con una pequeña cantidad de cobre en un molde de cera que se elabora a partir de un prototipo tradicionalmente modelado en cera de abeja. Sus dimensiones son 10,1 cm de ancho, 19,5 cm de longitud y 10,2 cm de altura.
English: The Muisca Raft is the symbol of El Dorado legend and the most legendary piece exhibited at the Gold Museum of Bogotá, Colombia. This raft made of gold was found in Pasca, Cundinamarca. The raft represents the ceremony that used to take place in Lake Guatavita where the zipa cover his body in gold dust and drop gold and emerald offering into the lake. |
