The initial coat of arms was granted by King Edward VII on 7 May 1908, and this version, shown here, was granted by King George V on 19 September 1912. This page was sent to the Prime Minister's Department with the following note: His Excellency the Governor General directs the publication, for general information, of the enclosed certified copy of the Royal Warrant granting Armorial Ensigns and Supporters to the Commonwealth of Australia. IMPORTANT:This image is an artist's interpretation of the original (1912) official version of the Commonwealth Coat of Arms shown in Commons on the Australian coat of arms page.
