English: Double page from the Sultan Baybars Qur'an. The beginning of Sura Al-Imran. Text page written in gold thuluth script outlined in black, with the chapter heading overlayed in red ink. Copied by Muhammad ibn al-Wahid, illuminated by team of artists headed by Abu Bakr Sandal (other two illuminators were Muhammad ibn Mubadir and Aydughdi ibn ‘Abdallah). Muhammad ibn Mubadir was responsible for the illumination in the first volume, which we know from his inscription from the final folio.
