Español: En la Exposición Universal de París, del año 1878, España participó en la muestra de arte retrospectivo del Palacio del Trocadero. Esta fotografía fue tomada aproximadamente en mayo de 1878, por la casa fotográfica de los Neurdein (una familia de fotógrafos franceses). La vista es del interior de un ala del Palacio del Trocadero, con la sección española. A la izquierda vemos la pintura "El Aquelarre", de Goya (que en 1875 se arrancó de los muros de la casa de la Quinta del Sordo, o Quinta de Goya, de Madrid), que era propiedad del barón de Erlanger (un banquero con residencia en París). La fotografía original es una copia en papel a la albúmina, del formato "tarjeta álbum", de la colección particular de C. Teixidor. Aquí se publica por primera vez.
Además de 3 obras de Goya (a la izquierda), también vemos colgados grandes tapices, y fotografías enmarcadas de J. Laurent, en la antesala de los arcos (donde figura el nombre "Espagne"), que dan paso a las piezas de la Real Armería de Madrid, que viajaron temporalmente a París. Le Sabbat des sorcières ou le Grand Bouc (d'après les multiples titres en espagnol El aquelarre, el Gran Cabrón) est l'une des peintures à l'huile sur plâtre de la série des Peintures noires avec lesquelles Francisco de Goya avait décoré les murs de sa maison Quinta del Sordo. |
