English: These tubes illustrate different grades of hemolysis, as assessed visually and by our chemistry analyzer, which provides a quantification of the amount of hemoglobin in the sample as a hemolysis index. The hemolysis index (HI) value was determined on the AU5800 analyzer (Beckman Coulter, Brea, CA). The relationship between HI value and concentration of free hemoglobin on the Beckman Coulter analyzers was classified as follows:
HI 0: <0,5 g/L, HI 1: 0,5–0,99 g/L, HI 2: 1–1,99 g/L, HI 3: 2–2,99 g/L, HI 4: 3–4,99 g/L |
