English: The Madan Mahal Fort in Jabalpur is associated with the Gond rulers who ruled over here during the 11 century,Rani Durgavati and her son Madan Singh.The fort is famous to be built over a large boulder rock and has stables,pleasure room,war rooms and a reservoir.It is situated on a top of a hill and offers a picturesque view of the Jabalpur city from the balcony situated at the top of the fort.Also near the fort the magnificent geological marvel of Balancing Rock is also present.
The ASI number of this monument of national importance is N-MP-160. The picture was taken when I visited the fort with my family one evening..the large boulder rock is the main attraction of the small fort. |
