Mīrzā Muḥammad Iʿtiṣām ad-Dīn Panchnūrī or Itesham Uddin (Bengali: মির্জা মোহাম্মদ ইতেশামুদ্দীন পাঁচনূরী, Persian: ميرزا محمد اعتصام الدين), was a Bengali diplomat for the Mughal Empire and the first educated South Asian to travel to Europe, in 1765.[1] He was also a munshi serving the Nawabs of Bengal as well as the British East India Company.[2] He had also written the text of the 1765 Treaty of Allahabad.[3]
