GeoJet,
I do hope it is proper use of the talk page to say this.

Z, Thanks for the kind words. I hope people find it useful. The next additions are the lyre and trapeze variations.
It is a fine article. I particularly like the reference to the 'mysterious mojo' ascribed to this hardware and that indeed tends to surround much speculative understanding of the guitar and its components. However, the article contradicts itself and this highlights an error. In the Construction section it is stated that a stoptail bridge has two parts which is certainly correct. Then the article goes on to state that these parts are separate. That is clearly not correct. In fact, accompanying the description of the 'wrap around' variant is a photograph clearly showing a one-piece stoptail bridge. BellwetherToday (talk) 16:22, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
It is perhaps understandable that the article focuses mainly on the McCarty style Gibson bridge. It should be recognized, since there is an entire article with which to accomplish this, that there are many designs of stoptail bridges. The main article should be consistent and objective. The McCarty bridge is a variant of the type itself. BellwetherToday (talk) 16:22, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
While not the most common material, ebony, rosewood and other dense hardwoods are used to make lightweight stoptail pieces. BellwetherToday (talk) 16:22, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
