Toucan crossings are where pedestrians and cyclists share a wide and unsegregated crossing area. Cyclists can ride across - all users should avoid changing direction suddenly. Cyclists should keep their speed down and be prepared to give way to avoid possible conflicts.

"Signalled cycle-only crossings also exist" - these would not be Toucan crossings, nor a variant of a pedestrian crossing, but light siganals for the control of vehicular traffic (TSRGD 33(2)) - I propose that this whole line is deleted 194.106.220.86 (talk) 11:11, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
