Brendan Peters Bechtel (born 1981) is an American businessman who is the chairman and chief executive officer of Bechtel,[1] the second largest construction company in the United States,[2] which has operations in 160 countries.[3] The great-great-grandson of founder Warren A. Bechtel,[4] he became CEO at the age of 35,[5] and is the fifth generation of the Bechtel family to lead the privately owned company since 1898.[6] Bechtel chairs the infrastructure committee of the Business Roundtable,[3][1] a lobbying group representing CEOs of some of the largest companies in the country.[7]
