While initially a palette swap of Ryu, Capcom has expressed desire to differentiate both playable characters from Street Fighters into their own personas, resulting in several games altering their moves and designs. Ken's gameplay has stood out as more overpowered, most notably in the sequel Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike who became famous in gaming competitions. While Ken has become one of the most famous fighting characters of all the time and his moves were praised, his Street Fighter 6 was the subject ridiculousness as a result of deteriorating his personal life.
