Ravar (Persian: راور)[lower-alpha 1] is a city in the Central District of Ravar County, Kerman province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] Known as the national carpet city of Iran, Ravar produces a distinctive type of Kerman carpet, and is also well known for its vast pistachio fields.[5]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 18.500 in 5,921 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 19.100 people in 6,260 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 19,800 people in 6,874 households.[2]
