Club Atlético Rosario Central (Spanish pronunciation: [roˈsaɾjo senˈtɾal]) is a sports club based in Rosario, Argentina, that plays in the Argentine Primera División. The club was officially founded on December 24, 1889, by a group of railway workers, taking its name from the British-owned Central Argentine Railway company. Originally a member of the Rosario's Football Association, the club affiliated itself to the Argentine Football Association (AFA) in 1939. Since then, Rosario Central has won the Argentine Primera Division five times, with the last domestic title being the 2023 Copa de la Liga Profesional. In addition, Rosario Central won six National cups, with the 2018 Copa Argentina being its most recent achievement.[6] Also, Rosario Central won the Copa CONMEBOL (the precursor of the current Copa Sudamericana)[7][3][4][8][9][10][5] in 1995.
