Born in the city of Tlaxcala,[1] he served two terms in the Chamber of Deputies (1964–1967 [es] and 1997–2000), as borough chief of Azcapotzalco from 1976 to 1979, and as governor of Tlaxcala from 1981 to 1987.[2] From 1982 to 1995, he was married to the actress Silvia Pinal.[3]
