Nasir Jones (born September 14, 1973), better known as Nas, is an American rapper. He is best known for his first album, Illmatic, which was released in 1994. It has been widely praised by fans and critics. Nas followed up with several commercially successful albums, such as It Was Written, I Am…, Nastradamus, Stillmatic, God's Son, Street's Disciple, Hip Hop Is Dead, Untitled, Life Is Good, and the King's Disease series. Nas has been nominated for fourteen Grammy Awards; his thirteenth studio album King's Disease won the Best Rap Album award during the 63rd Grammy Awards.[1] Because of his storytelling skills and creativity,[2] Nas is seen as one of the greatest rappers of all time.[3][4][5]
